The best place to watch birds in Tenerife is the north of the island, where you can find all year found some species like Yellow-legged Gull, Rock Dove, Common Kestrel, Collared Dove Blackbird and Spanish sparrow. During the summer season it’s very easy to see Cory Shearwater and in winter you will find Lesser Black-backed Gull, Common Sandpiper, Whimbrel, Sandwich Tern.

If you drive from Puerto de la Cruz up to La Orotava and continue up for 15 minutes to La Caldera, you will be able to see Rock Dove, Robin, Sparrowhawk, Grey Wagtail, Blackbird, Blackcap, Common Kestrel Canary Islands Chiffchaff, Blue Tit, Laurel Pidgeon, Common Buzzard, Blue Chaffinch, Canary, Greenfinch.

If you drive from Puerto de la Cruz up to Cruz Santa area, it will be easy to find there Common Kestrel, Laurel Pidgeon, Robin, Sparrowhawk, Grey Wagtail, Blackbird, Blackcap, Canary Islands Chiffchaff, Blue Tit, Rock Dove, Common Buzzard, Blue Chaffinch, Canary, Greenfinch. During the winter it´s frequent to see Common Teal, Greenshank, Coot, Blackheaded Gull, Wigeon, Pintail and more. During the summer it´s very easy to see Turtle Dove, Pallid Swift.
